How to rotate PDF pages
- Add your PDF. Every page appears as a thumbnail, so you can see straight away which ones are the wrong way up.
- Hover or tap a page and open its ⋮ menu, then choose Rotate left or Rotate right. Each choice turns that page by 90°.
- Repeat for every page that needs it — turn as many as you like, and press the same page twice if it needs 180°.
- Press Export. You get back a PDF with the rotations baked in.
Got one wrong? Undo steps back through your changes, so there is no need to start over. Nothing is written to your original file — the PDF on your disk is untouched until you save the exported one.
The rotation is saved into the file
This is the difference between rotating here and rotating in a viewer. Most PDF readers let you turn the page on screen, but that is a temporary view setting: send the file to someone else and it opens sideways again. What this page exports is a PDF whose pages are genuinely stored at the new orientation, so it opens correctly everywhere — in a browser, in a reader, in the print dialog, on someone else's machine.
That is also why it is worth doing before printing or sharing rather than after. A scan that is sideways on screen will print sideways, and a reviewer who has to tilt their head is a reviewer who notices the file before they notice the content.
Pages are not turned into pictures
Rotating a page here changes an instruction in the PDF, not the page itself. The text stays text, vector drawings stay vector, and the page keeps its own size and resolution. Nothing is rasterised in order to turn it, so the exported pages are not screenshots of the originals — they are the original pages, stored at a different angle.
That matters most for documents you still need to use: text you can select and search stays selectable and searchable, and a page that printed crisply before still prints crisply. Rotation is a 90° operation — it turns pages, and it does not crop, flip or mirror them.
What this page supports
- Input: PDF. You can also bring in images, DjVu, TIFF and Office documents if the job turns out to be bigger than rotation — this is the same workspace.
- Rotation: 90° steps, left or right, applied to one page at a time from that page's menu. Press twice for 180°.
- Scope: every page you rotate is rotated; every page you leave alone is left exactly as it was.

Everything runs on your own device. A large scanned document is limited by your machine's memory rather than by an upload cap, and the workspace tells you plainly if a file is too heavy to take on.
Questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The file is read from your disk into your browser's memory and processed there. Nothing is sent to a server, so there is no server-side copy to delete afterwards. You can keep the network panel open while you work — it stays quiet.
Will the rotation stick when I send the file to someone else?
Yes. That is the point of exporting rather than just rotating the view. The exported PDF stores the pages at their new orientation, so it opens the right way up for everyone, in any reader.
Does rotating reduce the quality?
No. Pages are not re-rendered as images in order to turn them. Text stays text, vector content stays vector, and the page keeps its original size — so a page that printed sharply before still does.
Can I rotate a page by 180°?
Yes — choose rotate left or rotate right twice on the same page. Rotation works in 90° steps, so any of the four orientations is reachable.
Can I flip or mirror a page?
No. This page rotates in 90° steps and does nothing else to the page geometry — there is no flip, no mirror and no cropping.
I have a 300-page scan where most pages are sideways. Is there a faster way?
Rotation is applied from each page's own menu, so a long document means working through the pages that need it. The thumbnails make the wrong ones easy to spot, and undo means a mistake costs one click. For very long scans it is usually quicker to fix them in the scanning software, if that is still an option.
Can I also reorder or delete pages while I am here?
Yes. This is the same workspace as the other PDF page tools — drag pages into a new order, remove the ones you do not want, add a second document, and export once when everything is right.
