How to rearrange the pages of a PDF
- Add your PDF. Every page appears as a thumbnail, numbered in its current order.
- Drag a thumbnail to where it belongs. The numbering updates as you go, so what you see is what you will get.
- Rotate a page 90° if it was scanned sideways, or use Undo if a drag went wrong.
- Press Export PDF to write a new file with the pages in the order on screen.
Why page order goes wrong in the first place
Scanners drop pages in the order they were fed. Documents get assembled from pieces that were signed at different times. A colleague sends back page 7 separately. None of that is a mistake worth re-scanning the whole stack for — the pages are fine, the sequence isn't.
Reordering here changes only the sequence. Each page keeps its own size and rotation, its text stays selectable, and links keep pointing where they pointed.
Order is decided before the export, not during it
Dragging a page updates the plan on screen; nothing is written until you export. That means you can rearrange, look at the result, rearrange again, and only then produce a file — and you can export more than once from the same arrangement.
Because the pages are copied structurally rather than re-rendered, reordering is not a quality trade-off. The pages that come out are the pages that went in, in a different sequence.
Editing and re-exporting a PDF can invalidate an existing digital signature. Your original file is never modified.
Frequently asked questions
Can I move several pages at once?
In the page grid, one page moves per drag, which is usually what an out-of-order stack needs. When the workspace holds several files, the Sources list lets you drag all the pages of one file to a new position at once.
Does reordering re-compress my PDF?
No. Pages are copied as they are, so nothing is re-rendered or re-encoded when the order changes.
Will the page numbers printed inside the document change?
No. Numbers drawn on the page are part of the page's content. Reordering changes the sequence of pages, not what is printed on them.
Can I reorder pages from two different PDFs together?
Yes. Add both files and the pages line up in one plan, so you can interleave them freely before exporting.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The document is read and rewritten inside your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
