How to convert DjVu pages to PNG
- Add your
.djvuor.djvfile. Every page is listed with a thumbnail, so you can find the ones you want. - Select the pages to export. Picking a handful is usually what you want — a whole book turns into a lot of image files.
- Press Export PNG.
- One selected page downloads as a single PNG. Two or more come back as a ZIP, with the files named after their page numbers in the original document.
What each image looks like
Each PNG is a picture of the finished page: the page keeps its own proportions, and a page you rotated is exported rotated. Pages of different sizes stay different sizes — nothing is padded or cropped to make them uniform.
PNG stores the rendered page without adding compression artefacts, so black-and-white text stays crisp. That also makes the files larger than a photo format would; if you are exporting many pages of a scanned book, expect the ZIP to be considerably larger than the DjVu you started from.
What does not come across
An image file holds pixels and nothing else. If the DjVu contains an OCR text layer, that text is not part of the PNG — you cannot select or search words in the result. DjVu bookmarks, hyperlinks and annotations are not carried over either.
This is the right tool when you need a page as a picture: to place in a document, post, or edit. It is the wrong one if you need the text.
Everything happens on your device
The DjVu decoder runs inside your browser as WebAssembly, and the images are written locally. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account to create.
Pages are only rendered when you actually look at them or export them, so opening a long book stays quick even on a phone.
